FAQs
Does it hurt?
Surprisingly, not much, the worst is a mild stinging sensation from some of the needles, not all of them.
How quickly will I see an effect?
A large proportion of people notice an effect on the first session. For others it takes two to three.
What will I look like when I leave
Mostly you cannot tell where the needles have been. You might feel like you are glowing; your face will feel more taught and plump as your body responds to the stimulus of the needles. You may sleep better that night. It is unusual to get a bruise but if you do it will clear in a few of days.
How should I schedule my 6 or 12 sessions?
6 session block taken over four weeks should ideally consist of
twice a week for 2 weeks (4)
once a week for 2 weeks (2)
12 session block over 3-4 months
twice a week for 2 weeks (4)
once a week for 4 weeks (4)
once every 2 weeks (4)
Do I need to continue after I have finished a course?
Yes, it is recommended that you do if you wish to maintain the effect. Follow up is suggested once every 1-3 months.
Do I have to commit to a course?
No, not at all, you can pay as you go. If you want to see if you like the effect by trying a couple you can upgrade to the 6 or 12 package on your third session.
What plans do you have for coronavirus safety?
There is at least a 15 minutes between clients. Hand sanitiser is available. The covers will be changed and the bed cleaned with alcohol between clients. The therapist will be wearing a mask and an apron.
What needles do you use?
All needles are single use and disposed of safely. The procedure requires various types of needles which are especially designed for acupuncture therapy; tiny ones for lines and wrinkles and longer ones to stimulate the muscles. They are made of stainless steel. The gauge of the needles is between 0.3mm and 0.16mm so they are much finer than injection needles.
